An important name-change has taken place in our company: Since March 2009 SMS Demag has been trading worldwide under its new name of SMS Siemag. 

The roots of the Weiss family company go back over 130 years.

Where does the name Siemag come from? 

Siemag originally comes from “Siegener Maschinenbau AG” (Siegen Engineering Corporation). The name was first used in 1918 when the second generation of the Weiss family merged three engineering plants into one.
