We are market leaders in SAF technology for nonferrous metals. There are two simple reasons for this success: our customers’ longstanding trust and our high-performance solutions. Take for example our submerged arc furnaces where you benefit from the extensive know-how that goes into your reliable and customized equipment. Equally convincing are the economic advantages, because our plants guarantee high process performance at low energy consumption.

Slag cleaning furnaces. You can choose from our wide range of SAF units for slag cleaning. So far, we have installed more than 20 plants worldwide. The slag is charged into the furnace either in liquid form or in solid form using conventional, cold charging systems. Here are some of the feasible applications:

Copper matte (e.g. from Teniente converters, Peirce-Smith converters, Outokumpu flash smelters, Noranda converters, recovered substances)

Nickel matte and copper matte. Our furnaces for producing nickel and copper matte come in a closed, stationary design. Normally, you use round furnaces for smaller to medium quantities, while rectangular furnaces are standard for processing large capacities.

Lead and zinc. Zinc is released from the SAF along with the gas phase. Residual metals and slag are tapped separately. Our SAFs are ideal for recycling dusts and other residual substances from the steel industry (e.g. EAF dust) and for recycling slag containing Pb / Zn from zinc / lead producing plants on a shaft furnace basis. We supply zinc evaporation and slag cleaning furnaces that are also available with direct current supply.
