Modernization without shutdowns
NLMK, Russia. Since 2004, we have been modernizing NLMK's hot strip mill step by step. The goal is to increase production by improving availability, enlarging the product range and improving strip quality. All modifications and conversions are scheduled in such a way that no production shutdowns will be required.
We are currently modernizing the area of the finishing mill's intermediate stand and will continue with the installation of CVC® plus, work-roll bending and hydraulic adjustment systems within the finishing stands. In 2006 the complete downcoiler unit was replaced by three new UNI plus coilers for coiling high-strength tube grades.
