3.8-m heavy-plate mill, Xiangtan, China
We have supplied the complete package, comprising mechanical equipment and electrical and automation systems, for the 3.8-m heavy-plate mill at Xiangtan Iron & Steel. The close intermeshing of all processes furnishes ideal preconditions for top-quality plate grades and a high yield. By performing the preliminary optimization of the automation with the Plug & Work concept, we have achieved a short commissioning time and fast run-up of production.
The plant, which went into operation in 2005, comprises the roughing and finishing stands, hot plate leveler, laminar plate cooling and trimming shear. In 2006 the company additionally ordered a cold plate leveler and a dividing shear from us.
