New rougher in just 18 days
Salzgitter Flachstahl, Germany. What made the revamp of the hot broad strip mill at Salzgitter Flachstahl GmbH even more impressive than usual were the extremely short stoppage times. The biggest challenge was installing the new rougher and the new edger in just 18 days. Simultaneously, we upgraded 5 of the 7 finishing stands with CVC® plus shifting systems and work roll bending. We not only revamped the mechanical systems, but also replaced the existing automation with our X-Pact® system. A new slab sizing press had already been installed previously.
