New prospects
ArcelorMittal Tubarão (CST), Brazil. With the commissioning of its hot strip mill, ArcelorMittal Tubarão has developed from a steelworks specialist into a hot strip manufacturer. The mill was built by us on a turnkey basis in 2002. ArcelorMittal Tubarão's mill has meanwhile attained an annual production rate of 2.8 million tons which can be increased even further by two more walking beam furnaces and a second roughing stand. With the aid of a special thin strip package, Tubarão produces strips with a thickness of only 1 mm.
