Quality in each production stage
As you like it. Your customers, e.g. in the automotive or packaging industry, have exact ideas about the necessary quality of the strip. You are ideally placed to respond to these specifications with our skin-pass mills. That’s because cold rolled strip with a high strip flatness, perfect mechanical properties and flawless surface has the best chance of success on today’s growth markets.
Tailor-made skin-pass mills. Depending on your plant configuration, we devise the right solution for you. Here are the alternatives:
- Inline skin-pass mills are integrated in annealing and galvanizing lines.
- Offline skin-pass mills are independent rolling facilities that can be used flexibly in various process stages.
- Combined reducing and skin-pass mills are the ideal choice if you require only a low yield. They give you the option of reducing or skin-passing strip in batches on a single stand.
- Two-stand DCR skin-pass mills combine reducing in the first stand with skin-passing in the second stand. So you can set specific material properties for further processing.
Today, new technologies are available that ensure constantly good strip surface quality even under fluctuating process conditions. Our roll bending systems, CVC® shifting to influence the strip profile or our automatic rapid roll change are some examples of our technology concepts that have proven their worth in production worldwide. They are supplemented by solutions like the use of inert gas that ensure clean strip surfaces and longer service life of your work rolls.
