The range of grades. Since the launch of CSP® technology in 1989, we have constantly expanded the steel grade program for this type of plant. Right now, these are your options:

Multiphase grades. There is a rapidly growing demand for multiphase steels to manufacture heavy-duty parts used in private and industrial vehicles. No wonder, as these grades come with properties such as elastic and plasticbuckling strength and high energy absorption. What it means is that cars are getting much lighter, while becoming far safer. Even though it weighs less, multiphase steel offers 50 percent more safety. No other material can beat that.

Si alloyed high-quality steels. CSP® material stands out for its ideal geometric and electromagnetic properties across the entire strip width and length. That makes it the preferred choice for electric motors, generators and linear drive systems. Non-grain-oriented grades are used e.g. in high-speed systems such as the Transrapid train.

Pipeline grades. Pipelines are used on- and offshore for transporting oil and gas. Here again, CSP® technology makes all the difference. Above all, the production process saves costly and rare alloying resources. And the improved properties of CSP® material include an excellent degree of isotropy, a high yield strength, excellent formability and good weldability.
