A world record. Since the introduction of CSP® technology, we have steadily reduced the minimum final strip thicknesses you can attain during hot rolling. Today, stable rolling of strips down to 1 mm is routine – as demonstrated by our 26 CSP® references. The latest milestone reached on one of our plants was the production of 0.78-mm-thin hot strip in semi-endless operation at Lianyuan Iron & Steel Group Co. Ltd. (Lysteel), PR China.
Practical operation. Lysteel runs one of our new-generation CSP® plants. They are designed to operate both conventionally and in semi-endless mode. That means strip can be produced in a continuous process up to a length of 269 meters, giving you a much higher production flexibility. Yet this is not the only advantage of our advanced CSP® plants – they also achieve steep run-up curves. Typically, Lysteel produced well above 1,000,000 t of hot strip after just a short time. The two-strand CSP® plant is equipped with Liquid Core Reduction? and the technological controls and process models we developed to match. It features seven finishing stands with hydraulic screwdowns and CVC® plus technology.
Tried and tested plant layout. As a rule, our CSP® plants consist of:
