Steel needs special treatment
The solutions. We have developed various ladle-based metallurgical processes in response to your goals. One thing they have in common: heat refining always takes place without the installation of large plants and equipment, which saves you money and effort. Our ladle treatment stands (LTS) are arranged between the smelting unit and the continuous caster. Worldwide, more than 60 of our LTS are in constant, reliable operation in electric and converter steelworks.
The performance. Here is an overview of the key characteristics of our ladle treatment systems:
- Deoxidization through the addition of aluminum or micro-alloys
- Adjustment of the chemical analysis by means of wire feeding and alloying agents
- Homogenization of the liquid steel with bottom or lance stirring
- Desulfurization by adding synthetic slag or injecting powder
- Addition of cooling agents to adjust the temperature
- Operation as a liquid steel buffer prior to casting
