A combination of advantages
VD-OB plants. Ideal for producing high-quality steel grades, our VD-OB plants feature high availability and low operating costs. To date, we have installed more than 140 plants in electric and converter steelworks with tap weights of up to 340 t. There is the option of either VD or VD-OB for the tank degassing process, depending on your requirements.
From VD. Our VD plants remove hydrogen and nitrogen. The steel is decarburized to minimum values, and simultaneously desulfurized. It goes without saying that these plants also achieve efficient, high-precision alloying and fine alloying. Also included are slag supply, profile control and homogenization of the ladle contents.
To VD-OB. This extension of the process involves adding an oxygen-blowing lance for forced decarburization of high initial carbon contents. That makes it ideal for producing ULC steels. Plus, you can use oxygen blowing for chemical heating with aluminum.
