The benefits. Do you want to achieve clean steel and a precise chemical analysis? Then our CHS (chemical heating stand) plants are the ideal choice for you. They impress with their low investment and operating costs. Just as convincing are the results, because the CHS process is excellent for chemical heating, alloying and fine alloying as well as for profile control. Furthermore, this technology homogenizes the steel quality and temperature, while the reaction between metal and slag takes care of desulfurization.

The process. Chemical heating utilizes the exothermal reaction heat generated by the oxidation of aluminum (or silicon). During the process, a bell or ring covered with refractory material is immersed in the liquid steel so that the entire process takes place under a protective gas atmosphere or under inert gas conditions. Already, our CHS plants operate in more than 30 electric and converter steelworks with tapping weights of up to 400 t. That is convincing proof of the reliability of our designs.
