All the benefits in each power system
One technology. There are good reasons why our DC furnace technology is a global leader. Our furnaces stand out because of their low energy and electrode consumption as well as because they ensure an excellent thermal and metallurgical homogenization of the steel bath. The stronger stirring effect supports this process. Compared to AC electric arc furnaces, DC versions lead to less grid interference which makes them ideal for connection even to weak electric networks. Furthermore, our computer simulation for the avoidance of electric arc deflections ensures perfect power supply via the bus bars.
Two versions. You can choose between direct current electric arc furnaces with bottom electrodes in either billet or pin design.
The benefits of pin-type bottom electrodes:
- Extremely low running costs
- Air cooled
- Greater number of simple steel pins
- Longer service life than the lining of the lower furnace shell
- No interim repairs
The benefits of billet-type bottom electrodes:
- Intensive spray cooling
- Steel / copper material combination for thermal balance
- Monitoring and control of each bottom electrode with the option of individual adjustment of the current at each electrode
